Youchen Technology
Chip Capacitor/Electrolytic Capacitor/Ceramic Capacitor SupplierAccording to IEC 60384-14, capacitors are divided into X capacitors and Y capacitors:
1. X capacitor refers to a capacitor that spans between L-N.
2. Y capacitor refers to a capacitor that spans between L-G/N-G.
(L=Line, N=Neutral, G=Ground)
The X capacitor is further divided into X1, X2, and X3, with the main difference being: 1 X1 withstand high voltage greater than 2.5 kV and less than or equal to 4 kV, 2 X2 withstand high voltage up to 2.5 kV.
3. X3 withstand high voltage ≤ 1.2 kV
The Y capacitor is further divided into Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4, with the main difference being: 1 Y1 withstand high voltage greater than 8 kV; 2. Y2 has a high voltage resistance greater than 5 kV; 3. Y3 high voltage resistance n/a; 4. Y4 withstand high voltage greater than 2.5 kV
X. Y capacitors are all safety capacitors, with X capacitors between the zero line of the live wire and Y capacitors between the live wire and ground.
They are used in the Line filter to filter the power supply and filter the common mode (Y capacitance) and differential mode (X capacitance) interference respectively.
Dongguan Youchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., as the headquarters, is an enterprise specializing in the production and sales of capacitors. Founded in Taichung City, Taiwan in 1990, and invested in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province in August 1997. With a good corporate development philosophy and professional technical level, it has rapidly risen in the field of electronic components. The company follows a diversified development path and currently has multiple production and sales companies under its umbrella.
1、 Capacitors for suppressing electromagnetic interference in power supplies
When using capacitors to eliminate noise in power cross line circuits, not only normal voltage, but also the generation of abnormal pulse voltages (such as lightning) must be considered, which may cause the capacitor to smoke or catch fire. Therefore, the safety standards for cross line capacitors have strict regulations in different countries, so it is necessary to use capacitors that have undergone safety certification.
2、 It is not allowed to use DC capacitors as cross line capacitors:
For X2 type capacitors used to suppress electromagnetic interference from power sources, they should be suitable for situations where there is no risk of electric shock in the event of capacitor failure, such as when the power supply is connected across lines, and can withstand a pulse voltage of 2.5kV. Capacitors for Y2 type suppression of power electromagnetic interference should be suitable for situations where there is no risk of electric shock in the event of capacitor failure. When connected across power lines, they should be able to withstand 5kV pulse voltage surges without causing breakdown
